02 July: Red Socks Day

Wear the socks of a leader
Sir Peter Blake liked to wear his red socks for good luck, and during the America’s Cup Challenge of 1995 New Zealanders supported the boat by putting on their own red socks!
The Sir Peter Blake Trust encourages schools, organisations and individuals around New Zealand and around the world to celebrate the memory of a great leader – Sir Peter Blake – by wearing a pair of his red socks. This could be on Red Socks Day, during Leadership Week or at any other time.
Official red socks and Red Socks Day lapel pins can be purchased through The Sir Peter Blake Trust. Proceeds from the sale of these items enable the Trust to run its programmes – thank you for your support. For more information, please email admin@sirpeterblaketrust.org or call 09 307 8875
