Energy

FYD seeks to minimise greenhouse gas emissions from the use of energy in our offices:

  • We choose energy efficient equipment and appliances when purchasing equipment.
  • We have installed energy efficient air conditioners and heaters which operate on timers.
  • Computers are programmed to go into sleep mode to reduce energy consumption.
  • We combine printer, copier and scanning functions into single machines to reduce electricity consumption and allow double sided printing.
  • Lights/photocopiers and computers are turned on when required.
  • Energy consumption is monitored by the ‘Green Team” to identify high use periods and any ‘spikes’. Actions are implemented to reduce atypical measures.
