The Auckland Big Walk is taking place at beautiful Huia in the Waitakere Ranges.

It's a 40 minute drive from the CBD and well worth the effort. You'll be surrounded by beautiful NZ bush, gorgeous streams and near the beach too! There is free parking onsite so no need to worry about that!

The 2km and 5km walks take place on the Karamatura Loop trail, please be aware that there are quite a few stairs. The 10km is awesome but not for the fainthearted! It takes the Karamatura Track up to the Forks and then the Fletcher Track back down. This one is fun but quite challenging, definitely for moderate to good fitness levels and not suitable for those aged under 10 years.

NB. Due to the wet summer and recent heavy rainfall the Karamatura and Fletcher Tracks both have some very muddy parts, so the 10km walk is slippery in some places.

Sport Waitakere will also be onsite running fun activities for the kids (and brave adults)!
