This year the Wellington Big Walk will be hosted by ZEALANDIA (Karori Sanctuary), a truly spectacular location only 10 minutes from the CBD. There are three routes, one to suit every level of fitness, a 2km route, 5km route and a 10km route. All routes start and finish from the same point and travel in a clockwise direction. The 10km walk will begin at 10.00am; the 5km walk will start 10.15am and the 2km walk will commence at 10.30am.
For those of you bringing along your young ones, the 2km route is pram-friendly and mainly flat. However, the 5km walk is of moderate difficulty and is not appropriate for prams while the 10km walk consists of climbs and descents and is designed for those of a high fitness level.

Food and entertainment: once you have completed your walk there is a great cafe on-site or a sausage sizzle will be available with raffles and spot prizes about halfway along Waiapu Road.
Parking
There is a ZEALANDIA car park and on-road parking available along Birdwood Street as well as the parking lot at Appleton Park which is a short 500m walk along Waiapu Road to the ZEALANDIA entrance. (The car park immediately outside the entrance is reserved for ZEALANDIA customers).
