Kiwi Can Kaikohe welcomes new staff!

Left to right: Meagan Muriwai, Edward Cook, Khrystal Morunga, Piripi Rakena and Leigh Ngawati
Kiwi Can Kaikohe welcomes Piripi Rakena, Meagan Muriwai and Leigh Ngawati to the team. The three bring a range of fantastic skills that they have already taken the opportunity to wow our tamariki with. 2008 promises to be a big year for Kiwi Can in the far north. With the visit of Kandoo the kiwi, the Ngapuhi festival and all our exciting lessons and activities with the tamariki of Ngapuhi here in beautiful Kaikohe. We are looking at expanding but that does require a fair bit of funding first, which Edward is hunting around for. We’re also looking forward to a change of offices soon along with the rest of the Ngapuhi Iwi Social Services staff which we are proudly a part of.
Kiwi Can Kaikohe showcase the programme to the community!
Kiwi Can Kaikohe had a stall at the Ngapuhi Festival as part of Ngapuhi Iwi Social Services. The Kiwi Can banners and signage along with some colourful balloons and brochures gave Kiwi Can heaps of impact among the 120 stalls. There was a lot of positive reaction to the programme’s presence, especially from the young tamariki who attend Kiwi Can regularly. Energetic Kiwi Can Leader Khrystal Morunga was a Master of Ceremonies at the Festival, introducing
dignitaries and performers like Che fu and the Krates. She took on the task with her usual vigour despite having lost her voice at Kiwi Can national training the day beforeKiwi Can Kaikohe, operated by Ngapuhui Iwi Social
