Setting Up Project K

Setting up as a Project K Licensee

As a community-driven initiative, regions are licensed to run programmes. The licence may be granted to an existing trust in an area or a new trust can be set up.

If you're interested in helping get Project K to your region, please call the National Manager on 09 476 7026 or print and complete this Expression of Interest form and post it to the National Manager, Foundation for Youth Development, Private Bag 303 287, North Harbour, Auckland. We'll then call you to discuss the next steps.

Having established a highly effective trust, in conjunction with Project K, the local trust applies for a licence. When granted, the Licensee's responsibilities include:

  • managing the start-up of the programme in their communities
  • hiring and supervising a local programme director and other staff
  • ensuring programmes operate as designed to the highest standards
  • raising funds to run programmes
  • contracting service providers, e.g. Wilderness Adventure facilitators
  • reporting to National Support Office, as required
  • mentor recruitment and training
