A busy start to the second half of 2010

Nic Goodman is quickly getting to grips with the Programme Director role, and has identified plenty of opportunities for growth in the programmes we can provide for youth in Hawkes Bay (watch this space). If you would like to support our work in any way please contact Nic.

Robyn Broughton joins us in the Mentor Coordinator role, Robyn is super organised, highly energetic and has a passion for working with youth.

What’s next on our calendar:

Terroir at Craggy Range and Project K invite you to join us for an evening of fine wine, fabulous food and convivial company to benefit the Youth of Hawkes Bay.

6pm, Thursday, August 19th, 2010.

This year long term supporter of Project K and Chef, Tony Astle of Antoines will be our guest speaker. Tickets are limited to 120 places. If you would like to secure a ticket please contact Tracey McInnes at Craggy Range on 06 873 0143. Ticket price is $140 per person.

Our current Project K programmes:

  • Central Hawkes Bay College: just finished their Community Challenge and making a great start to their mentoring component
  • Havelock North High School '09: eleven months into their mentoring year, and due to graduate on August 3rd
  • Havelock North High School ’10: has started their selection process, their Wilderness Adventure begins in September
  • Napier Boys High School: nine months into their mentoring year, and due to graduate on October 19th

Are you interested in mentoring?

Are you a great listener and communicator with loads of common sense plus a sense of fun? If you are, we would love to hear from you. Being a Project K Mentor is a wonderfully rewarding and supported 12 month journey with a student as they work towards achieving their own goals.

We still have some places available for our HNHS mentoring training programme.

Training is over the following 4 days:

  • Thursday 9 September 6pm – 9pm
  • Saturday 11 September 9am – 4pm
  • Thursday 16 September 6pm – 9pm
  • Saturday 18 September 6pm – 9pm

Please contact Robyn on 06 870 4041 to find out more about mentoring.
