The Big Walk

Stars Peer Mentors from Bishop Viard had the opportunity to jump on The Big Walk Parade down Lambton Quay to Parliament in February, where they were met by Minister's Paula Bennett and Pita Sharples along with PM John Key who responded to a call for his appearance. 

The Peer Mentors had just been trained for their roles in mentoring the Year 9 students and enjoyed hearing the speeches from the student participants in The Big Walk. They will soon be experiencing the non-urban environment for themselves with their Adventure Camp at the beginning of March.  In Terms 2 and 3 they will undertake the Community Project and Community Adventure phases.
