Napier Boys High School
Our first ever group of students from Napier Boys' High School were selected in June 2007 before heading for 3 weeks of physical, mental and emotional challenges that the Wilderness Adventure offers.
The boys had a fierce lesson in independence over this time, planning their journey, cooking for themselves and being responsible for their own gear, all of this, whilst having to cope with extreme weather conditions for the whole 3 weeks.
Friendships and the boys ability to work as a team were certainly put to the test, but they returned home even stronger for it.
The boys fully embraced the Community Challenge, and with the hope of being taken paintballing as a reward for their hard work, they participated in every activity that came their way. They have yet to complete their community project, but will be volunteering for Sport HB in 2008 with their hectic event schedule.
'One of my mates was there for me when I was struggling. He would lend a hand and make my heavy pack lighter.' - Napier Boys' 2007 student
