About us
Waikato Youth Empowerment Trust (WYET) is a charitable trust delivering programmes that encourage our young people to stretch themselves to realise their potential and understand their value in our community.
We became an incorporated society in 2005 and are based in Hamilton, Waikato. WYET began with six voluntary trustees and has expanded to eight trustees in 2008. Our Chairperson, Erica Amon, has been at the helm for two years and the trustees and staff are passionate about the possibilities when young people realise what they can achieve. Most of us can recall someone who would have benefited from a Foundation for Youth Development programme when they were in high school and we are all driven by the belief that an investment in today's youth can positively shape tomorrow's community.
Trustees
We have eight voluntary trustees who are active in promoting and fundraising on behalf of the trust.
