At Coromandel Area School, two year 7-8 classes have been designing Kiwi Can murals to hang in their playgrounds- one for the senior school playground and one for the junior school playground. 

The murals are designed to promote Kiwi Can and fair play.  Classes talked about appropriate messages and icons to include in the design, and then each child created a deisgn to reflect their own ideas and colour schemes.

Classes then evaluated the designs for visual impact, readability, and spacial arrangement and chose the elements from several designs to include in each mural.  Design elements were then drawn up on large card, which were used as stencils to transpose the design onto ply.

The paint has been discounted by Resene Paints, and the murals were entered into the Resene mural competition. This was the Coromandel Area School Kiwi Can School Project for 2011.
